Commercial Toasters cover a variety of types: Pop-Up, Conveyor, Contact Toasters and Toaster Ovens. Pop-Up Toasters typically have four slots of equal width or a combination of two equal widths for toast and two equal widths for Bagels. Conveyor Toasters typically have 10” to 14” wide belts. Conveyor toasters can be purchased with product openings heights of 1-1/2” or 3” tall. A conveyor toaster will have top and bottom heat controls. Contact Toasters are typically used for the toasting of the underside of a bun. With a Contact Toaster the bun slides down an opening against a heated surface to caramelize the surface and creates a barrier between the condiments of the sandwich, eliminating the soggy sandwich. Toaster Ovens are compartment-like ovens that have heating elements located in the top that creates the browning of the bread product. Manufacturers of Commercial Toasters are: APW, Belleco, Equipex, Hatco, Roundup, Star, and Waring.
